It was a beautiful day to play golf here at the Villages on September 26, 2024. Our Captain’s Trophy winner was a familiar face—Cindy Fuller. This is her third Captain’s Trophy win in the past six months. We all need to figure out what her secret is. She shot a Net 68 to win this month. For Low Putts there were four golfers at 31 putts: Kitty Ohtaka; Judy Rodriguez; Joyce Mukuno; Gisele Barber. There were six chip ins: Millie Anne Schwerin, Gisele Barber, Vicki Krattli, Jan Kiernan, Sue Park, Judy Rodriguez. There were only three birdies: Joyce Mukuno, Barbara Weisend, Sue Park. Good playing, ladies.

There are a number of signs that we are in fall and the closing in on the end of the golfing calendar for the year. To keep our golf course in top condition the fall aeration begins on Monday, which means October 3 will be casual play with be no sweeps. There are only two more opportunities for the ladies to improve their Ec score: October 10 and 17. October 24 is the final Guest day for the year, which is a fun opportunity to invite a guest for golf and lunch.

Two fun events have been added to our calendars this year. The first is a Bocce match on October 19 between the Villages Women’s golf clubs. In November there will be a nine hole tournament between the Shonis and the 18 Hole women. Thanks to the organizers to provide more interactions amongst the Villages Women golfers.
