May 1 dawned foggy, but when the fog lifted it turned out to be a beautiful, warm spring day. During the Handicap Tournament Qualifying round on this date, some ladies experienced some bird-related issues (geese fighting and crows chasing a hawk), but everyone got the round under their belts and will be ready to start the match play tournament next Thursday, May 8. Chairs Vicki Krattli and Kerry Besmehn, along with Scott Steele, will determine the first pairings. Those pairings will be based on scores from May 1. Next week, ladies will have tee times for their first match play game. Tee times work better with match play in case tie breaking additional holes are required. Three games will be played in the Handicap Tournament: May 8, 15 and 22. If ladies are not available on the dates previously mentioned, then they must arrange another play day with their opponent.

May 29 is Guest Day. Ladies are encouraged to play a practice round that day with their Invitational partners.

The second Saturday Tournament will be on May 17. There are 10 consecutive tee times starting at 8:05 a.m. Sign up with either Camille Giuliodibari or Betty Sharps. The cost of the lunch is $15, and it will be held at Montgomery Center right after golf.

Lastly, the Swingers (Gisele Barber and Diana Hallock) host five Friday Night Twilight Nine and Dines, and the first one is May 30. These very fun events are open to all resident golfers and even outside guests of residents. Signups start two weeks prior, and players must call the Pro Shop for a hole assignment in the shotgun. Future tournaments are June 27, July 25, August 22, and September 19.
