It’s warming up to a fabulous spring! These clear and crisp mornings are beautifully bright. We had so much fun on the course today. Come join us!
We are playing 16-hole golf rounds. Today, holes 1, 2 and 3 were fully open. Holes 6 and 7 are getting the bunker treatment. Holes 4, 5 and 8 are open, but restricted with ground-under-repair, including the new bunkers. We are all noticing new features for grass “catch” areas near the bunkers. Perhaps, this is meant to create more forgiving play, like on hole 3, near the right-side green bunker. Some of the #2 tee boxes are being redone, enlarged and leveled. As a result of the two tees being “worked over”, a few of the #2 tees were set on the #1 tee boxes today. Aye, you’d think that would be an advantage! Was Scott purposely inviting us to try out the new bunkers by moving those tees up? It will take practice to get used to the fluffier sand and the lower lips. All in all, the snow white bunkers are a beautiful site from the road. Personally, I’m trying to delay my personal play day in the sandbox for as long as possible. They are pretty from a safe distance though. The work crew is doing a fabulous job. Kudos to them and to Mike Poellot, the designer. Thanks also to Butch!
I heard quite a few yips and hollers this morning around the links. Chips-ins were celebrated for Bock He Kim #15, Geri Wilk #10, Laura Swenson #17, Sheryl Driskell #16, Bette Samdahl #9, and Patti Bell #17. Birdies continue to be a rare happening. Congratulations to Maziebelle Rice # 11, Laura Swenson #11, and Cindy Fuller #18. Sweeps were awarded for five flights and all the winners can be found in the Scoreboard. Of note, several ladies have moved to the 2 tees. We had 29 golfers from the 2 tees and 17 from the combo tees today. Play from where you feel happy and where your golf game is best suited. Fun for all, and all for fun!
