18 Hole Women turn out for beautiful Saturday play day

Our first Saturday play day, March 15 was a great tournament. We thought it was going to rain but we got lucky and It ended up being a beautiful day. We played the Cha Cha Cha and the winners were.

First Place: Betty Sharps, Emily Lee, Diane Flannigan, blind draw

Second Place: Janelle Salvatierra, Marky Olsen, Blind draw

Third Place: Vicki Krattli, Patti Bell, Chris Leisy, Janet Gonzales

Fourth Place: Helen Varenkamp, Mazie Rice, Priscilla Piper, Judy Owen

Afterward we went to Diana Hallock’s home for a fabulous baked potato bar and homemade chili made by Mary Wagle. Thank you to our hosts Diana Hallock, Mary Wagle, Kerry Besmehn and Lo Rube. They always do a great job.

Thursday, March 20 was a no sweeps day. Cindy Fuller, our Play Day Chair, decided that we all put in $2 and we played a four-women team scramble. It was a good game to play as they just sanded the greens. The winners were:

First Place: Monica Saneholtz, Helen Varenkamp, Annie Bassford, Marky Olsen 

Second Place: Susan Anderson, Sue Park, Bock He, Mazie Rice

Third Place: Kathleen Holt, Judy Steinberg, Sheryl Driskell, Judy Rodriguez

Next week is our first guest day, Spring into Golf. April 3 is Captains Trophy day. April 17 is Beat the Pro. Get a partner and sign up.

May 1 is Captain Trophy day and Qualifying for the Handicap Tournament. The tournament dates are May 8, 15, and 22. See Kerry Besmehn to sign up.

May 29 is Guest Day. This is the time to sign your Invitational Partner up for a practice round for Viva Las Villages. Our course will be in great shape with our new Bunkers.

It looks like we are getting ready for a great year of golf so hope to see you on the course.
