Tuesday, November 19 was our Turkey Shoot tournament. The weather was a beautiful fall day with all of our members out playing the back nine as work on our new bunkers continues. Despite having all the groups on the back nine, play went smoothly, and the ladies were able to finish in a timely manner and enjoy lunch in the bistro sampling some of the chef’s new menu items and a little Mexican coffee to warm our hearts.
It was a team game, alternating play from the number one and number two tees and playing the 11th hole with a tee shot using our putters. I think many of us could have used a little practice before attempting the tee shot. There were two flights, and four teams received money in each flight.
Some people really get into the holiday spirit.
The winners in flight one were Pam Short, Sheryl Driskell, Judy Steinberg, and Gloria Lowry and they were followed by three teams all shooting 66 but losing in scorecard playoff to the winning team.
The second flight winners won decisively with a net 62. Congratulations, Charlotte Waugh, Betty Garcia, Lolivic Shawn and Jan Ehrhardt, great teamwork.

Our final tournament of 2024 will be our Holiday Tournament and Luncheon on December 17. The theme this year is Pajama Party, so get your warm and cozy PJs and come out and enjoy the fun. I hear there will be several surprises waiting for those getting into the theme.
