9-Hole Women’s golf club adjusts bylaws and hears from this year’s Charity of Choice

By Mary Wagle

The Swingers had a gorgeous day of golf and sweeps April 29, followed by the spring general meeting. At the general meeting, the bylaw revisions were approved to remove references to WNHGA (Women’s Nine Hole Golf Association), since the Swingers have dropped out of the organization. Plus, all associated WNHGA activities, such as Corena Green, Team Play, and the Northern California Tournament of Champions, were removed from the bylaws.

Valerie Dimmick, the Charity of Choice Chair, arranged a speaker from Child Advocates of Silicon Valley to present their CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteer program to the Swingers at the general meeting, too. This will be the Swingers Charity of Choice in 2025, so Swingers should “save the date” of August 26 for the program. More information will be distributed in the coming months.

Gisele Barber and Diana Hallock from the Swingers have arranged the five Friday Night Twilight Nine and Dine games, open to all Villagers (guests may also come) starting at 4:30 p.m., as follows: May 30, June 27, July 25, August 22, and September 19. Everyone should put these dates on their calendars and line up golf partners, as these events are so much fun and very well-attended.

On the Swingers calendar, there’s a scheduled Stanford Exchange May 22; however, we’ve checked with them and determined that this particular event is not open to Villagers. Stanford has invited two other clubs only on that date, but Swingers have been assured that they will be invited to the September 4 Stanford Exchange.
