Artificial Intelligence (AI) articles and presentations are ubiquitous. Several of both have been offered to residents—and yet Senior Academy is sponsoring yet one more. That’s because our event has a unique focus—AI in Healthcare. And then, too, AI is constantly evolving, so what you heard three months ago could have shifted. Seniors now have access to tools that can transform their quality of life.
Fabio Di Troia, an Assistant Professor in San Jose State University’s Department of Computer Science, will introduce us to the benefits and challenges of AI technology in health monitoring, the use of personal assistants, its place in health safety and security, and its assistance with health-related transportation needs. In addition, Fabio will warn us about the pitfalls of AI in healthcare—fraud and scams, misinformation and the potential for an over-reliance on this new world of technology that is an enigma to most of us.
