Making their lively debut during the “At The Movies” themed showcase are the eclectic vocal duo Bob Flesher and Don Clarke, informally known as “dnb.” Bob and Don offer classic, contemporary rock and pop songs, while playing striking tunes on electric and acoustic guitars. Both “dnb” are active Villagers who bring together years of rhythmic experience and chops. Bob is a long-time musician who hails from Toronto, who played in a couple of “almost famous” Southern Rock Bands, while living in Los Angeles. Don’s earliest musical experience was playing Fife (a small shrill flute) in Saint Benedict’s drum Corps in NYC. He taught himself to play guitar while in College using friend’s guitars, and even sang solo in traffic on the 405 and 101 freeways! This dynamic duo comes together March 14, 15 and 16 in the Cribari Auditorium to impress with the movie-themed songs “Pretty Woman” “Here Comes the Sun” and “Nowhere Man.”
Wicked, our awe-inspiring guest performers, will boogie back to the stage while dancing to the hit song “9 to 5” from the 1980 film of the same name, and “Danger Zone” from Top Gun. Wicked is a dance team led by Bernice Toy that meets weekly to share the joy of dance, while focusing on technique. Sharing their talents with the community is a way of giving back.
