“What good is sitting alone in your room all day? Come hear the music play…. Life is a cabaret old Chum; Come to the cabaret.” —Liza Minelli singing ‘Cabaret’
March style of dance is…well you guessed it, Cabaret! Please bring a hat with a brim to use as a prop.
The cabaret originated in France in the late 19th century as a small club. The word “cabaret” comes from the Dutch word caberet or cabret, which means “affordable accommodation.”
Traditional Cabaret entertainment includes singing, dancing, comedy, and theater, with a Master of Ceremonies or Emcee acting as the host.
