Rain, rain go away, please come back some other day. That’s exactly what has been happening this week. Thursday was our annual Charity Day. It was cancelled due to rain, wind and hail. The Charity this year was for UCSF Melanoma and Skin Cancer—something that is close to all of us. We had lunch in spite of the rain. Maggie Putnam from UCSF joined us and shared the importance of this research. Our very generous group donated $3370. Thank you, Holly Macgowen and Diana Hallock for all your hard work.
March 15 was our inaugural 2025 Saturday Tournament. Due to the weather, Mary Wagle decided for us to play 9 holes. We will see the results next week. Afterward everyone will go to Diana Hallock’s house for a baked potato bar and Mary’s homemade chili.
Next big event is guest day on March 27. It is not too late to find a guest and join the fun. You can consider asking your invitational guest. April 3 is Captain Trophy Day. We will be resuming our 8:30 a.m. tee time when bunkers are complete. Now it’s time to sign up for Beat the Pro. It is on April 17.
Everyone is getting excited about this year’s 2025 invitational, Viva Las Villages. Mazie Rice, Co Captain, and her team are working hard. The dates are June 18-20. Applications are now available.
Hope the rain stops soon so we can enjoy playing golf on our beautiful golf course.
