The Tennis Club tournament featuring Women’s doubles and Men’s doubles September 7 and 8 was exciting to play and watch, but especially Sunday’s full day of tennis culminating with the men’s first USTA 6.5 home match on Sunday at 5 p.m.
Tournament Results:
Men’s Doubles A – with only three teams entered, Sukh Johal/Brett Forman won first place. Harry Soin/Amit Seth got second place. Paul Spicer/Brian Dombrowski were in third place.
Women’s Doubles A – With four teams entered, they played a round robin format, each team playing three matches. They were all so evenly matched that we had to count sets won minus sets lost to find results. Phyllis Seeger/Helen Varenkamp won first place, Peggy Seidel/Carrie Yasukawa were second place, Julie Hawkinson/Sherry Benz came in third.
Men’s Doubles B – Ken Kline/Emil Pissari won first place, Adrien Fournier/Clint Brown were second place, Venkat Prabhala/Sheng Chen were third place, and Randy Shaw/Dari Tarabini were the consolation winners.
Women’s Doubles B – Mitzi Macon/Lolivic Shaw won first place. Liz Kung/Linda Wong got second place.
