September 19, 2024—The day started out a little gray, a little cool for the final round of the Club Championship. The sun came out for a beautiful fall day of golf. There were 41 golfers entered into the Championship—the biggest field in over 10 years. This is the only club tournament where the winners play to Gross score to win. Monica Saneholtz won for her 18th Club Championship shooting a total 177 gross over the two days. Runner up Helen Varenkamp was only two strokes back at 179. And yes you read that correctly—Monica has won our Club Championship 18 times. Congratulations! Low Net in the Championship flight went to SusieQ Conklin. Low Gross in the other flights were: Flight 1 Janet Gonzales; Flight 2 Gloria Landry; and Flight 3 Auralie Citrigno. Congratulations to all winners and recognition of the net winners in each flight.

The meeting started with Captain Patti Bell leading the club in a moment of silence for the unexpected passing of Peg Van Camp the day before.

Today there were five Birdies shooters: Monica Saneholtz (9); Janis LeCompte (13 and 18); Lyn Strong (6); Suzanne Fazzio (4); and Delma Juarez (11). Chip Ins paid $2 each: Annie Bassford (3); Marie LeBlanc (4); Suzanne Fazzio (4); Auralie Citrigno (4); Jay Lee (3); and Chris Leisy (5).

The Club held the annual Hole in One party later in the day. This year we are honoring Kathy Apgar and Janis Le Compte who made Hole in Ones in the past year. The teams for the Village Challenge were drawn at the party and will play over three weeks starting October 8.
