Director of Food & Beverage looks forward to the next chapter

After over a decade of service to The Villages Golf and Country Club as Director of Food and Beverage, with mixed emotions John Yu makes the decision to retire. His last day is October 1. Under John’s leadership, the Clubhouse has seen many changes, including managing the Clubhouse through the 2020-2023 pandemic. As a way to keep the Clubhouse doors open during COVID, The Villages Clubhouse pivoted and introduced Curbside pickup, which remains to this day a popular convenience for Villagers. In John’s words, “It has been an honor to be a part of this company and work with such a talented and dedicated team.”

John takes with him the memories of Villagers, staff and management and wishes the Club, its teams and members the best of luck, health and success.

To honor John’s service to The Villages, the GM Office, staff and Club will host a retirement get-together in the Clubhouse’s Fairway Room, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 1, as part of our regularly-scheduled Open Mic Night. John’s known for his Elvis Presley impressions on the Open Mic stage.

Generously hosted by the Club:

  • Open bar serving beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages
  • Buffet-style finger foods served until 8:30 pm
