Registration deadline extended for Art Deco/Lempicka exhibit trip!

Artist Tamara de Lempicka (1894-1980) became a cultural icon of the 1920s through her liberal and glamourous lifestyle. With works that exuded cool elegance and pushed the boundaries of sensuality she helped to define Art Deco and influence fashion.

We’ll travel to the de Young Museum in San Francisco on Thursday, November 7, to see this exhibition, which is the first major retrospective of her work in the United States, featuring over 100 works including drawings, still lifes, and portraits of the cosmopolitan elite from postwar Paris and Hollywood. With a technique that combines classical figural style with the modern energy of the international avant-garde, she captured the opulence and vitality of her time.

Lunch will be purchased independently at the museum café or from nearby food stalls. The trip cost per person is $79 and includes trip escort and round-trip transportation. Gratuity for the driver is included in the price. Additional tipping is at your discretion. Due to the weather of the Bay attire is casual and warm.

We will depart from Cribari East Parking Lot at 8 a.m. with an estimated return time of 4 p.m.

Register for this trip in Building B by Friday, Oct. 25.
