Carmel Margaret Smith, née Cashell, passed away on November 6th, 2024, after courageously living with cancer for over four years. She spent a lifetime bringing people together, creating joy and deep human connections wherever she was.
She met her husband, John, in 1969 and their devoted relationship culminated in celebrating their golden wedding anniversary shortly before her passing. Carmel became a mother in 1976, which brought her endless joy. She devoted her life to raising her four children, across three countries. Always active, in her later years Carmel loved nature walking, family gatherings and volunteering at the local library.
