It was the disciples who asked the Lord to teach them how to pray, as recorded in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke. When you pray the Disciple’s prayer, as some refer to it as, the Lord’s Prayer, how does that impact your life? As you pray, “thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven,” what does that look like in your heart? Does it mean that you must comply with His will for your life on earth… to live in Heaven?
We are approaching one of the most significant times in human history, the Celebration of Easter, this April. It is a time of great pause in our lives as we recall the redemptive act of love from God in Christ. From The Message: Romans 5:6-8 “Christ arrives right on time to make this happen. He didn’t wait for us to get it right. He presented himself for this sacrificial death when we were far too weak and rebellious to do anything to get ourselves ready. Even if we hadn’t been so weak, we wouldn’t have known what to do anyway. We can understand someone dying for a person worth dying for, and we can appreciate how someone good and noble can inspire us to make selfless sacrifices. But God put His love on the line for us by offering His Son in a sacrificial death while we were of no use what so ever to him.”
Take this month to appreciate what God has done and what others do to bless your life with gentle moments of grace. I’m appreciative and affirm all those who faithfully read my articles and are inspired by them in some way. I’m delighted and surprised when I’m out and about, to see and hear that you read my articles.
Let me be the first to say I appreciate your efforts in making this world a little better with you in it. I pray that you will continue to encourage and bless one another, reminding each other of God’s great love for us all. “So, let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At the right time, we will reap a harvest of blessings if we don’t give up.” Galatians 6:9 NLT.
