Welcome everyone to the Association Board of Directors Annual Meeting for 2025.
I would like to thank the Association Board for its outstanding work this past year. I thank Pat Reardon for her work as Vice President and for her work on the Landscape Committee, among other things. I thank Patrick Barber for his work as Treasurer and keeping a close eye on our finances. I thank Deb Gordon for her work as Secretary and also her very hard work heading up Firewise for the Association. I thank Steve Gilbert for his work on the Landscape Committee and on special projects as he is needed and welcome him back for another term on the ABOD. I thank Dave Dimmick for his work on the Insurance Committee and for taking over the leadership of that committee now that David Cook has moved away. Finally, I thank David Raskin for accepting an appointment to the Board and serving this past year after the sudden loss of John Epperheimer. I thank David for serving on the Rules Review Committee, the Rules Committee and the Policy Committee. I thank him for agreeing to continue to serve on those committees now that his time on the ABOD has concluded. I am also happy David will be going back to serve on the Montgomery DAC so the Villagers will continue to benefit from his willingness to serve the community.
I am very proud of everyone on this board and the time commitment they have given to the Villages. When I tell people I am president of a homeowners association the standard response is why would you take such a thankless job. My answer is because I have a fantastic group of people to work with on the Board as well as excellent management and staff. The issues are important and interesting and I am never bored. While it does interfere with my golf once in a while, I get a lot of satisfaction working with a great group of people.
Thank you for coming to the Annual Meeting and as usual, my phone, my email and my door are always open and available for questions, comments or discussions.
