Betty W. Roark

May 1927 — January 2025

Born May 1927 in Madisonville, Kentucky and died January 2025 at home.

Betty was the first person in her family to go to college and graduated with a degree in economics. At Elmhurst College she met a wonderful instructor and they were happily married 59 years. She worked in the finance profession for years.

Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband Donald, a professor at SJSU. Betty was an avid bridge player and a superb cook. She and Don were world travelers. They visited all fifty states and all of the continents except Antarctica. She was an intelligent, beautiful person with a great sense of humor. Her kindness will be remembered by the many who knew her.

She leaves behind her two daughters, Pamela and Cynthia, and two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Steven, who adored her. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Thank you DiemMy and Team Betty for taking such great care of her. Betty requests donations in lieu of flowers to VMA at The Villages, San Jose or to the scholarship of your choice at https://www.sjsu.edu/giving/

On March 3, 2025, there will be a viewing at Oak Hill from 1-2 and a meeting in the lobby to form a procession to the grave at 2:30. Graveside service will be held at 3.
