Bluegrass Club to host year’s final jam on November 3

By Alan Rich

The next Bluegrass Club jam will be held Sunday, November 3 from 2 to 3:30 p.m at Foothill Center. As we will be setting up sound equipment, please don’t arrive before 1:15 p.m. We will be using the 96-chair-seating arrangement again, so there should be plenty of seats for everyone. The first row of seats will be reserved for musicians who brought their instruments.

All Villagers and their guests are invited to an afternoon of Bluegrass, Vintage Country, and Gospel music.

Attendees are welcome to bring their acoustic instruments (no electrics please), and either play along or sing with the band. You are also welcome to just sit back, relax, and listen to the music if you like. The jam will be led by the Scotch Creek Bluegrass band that is based here in The Villages. This event is free!

Bluegrass music is a type of American music that is influenced by Scottish, Irish, English, Gospel, and Country music.

Once we get a little closer to the event, a link will be sent out to see the song lyrics and chords. You must be on the club’s mailing list to receive the link. To get on the mailing list, please email alanrichgis@gmail.com.

I hope to see all of you on November 3. This will be our last jam this year. Our next one is scheduled for February 2025.
