The last Friday afternoon Bocce Bash of 2024 had a Halloween theme and Minnie got it started by stopping traffic. Today’s Bash was hosted by the bocce president, Jana King and her sidekick, Scout Master Roger King. Throughout 2024 these Friday afternoon bashes have been coordinated by Patti Smith with assistance from multiple volunteers. Thanks for all your hard work. These Friday afternoon bashes will start back up again in March so watch for the starting information.

These 3 p.m. Bashes are a great way to hone your skills, have lots of fun and socialize with other bocce members not during a competitive tournament. If you’re not a member, you’re also welcome. This is a great time and place to find out if bocce is your “sport.”

A table full of snacks is usually available to munch on brought by Bashers. Everyone who wants to munch is asked to contribute something.

A year of hard work by the board has now culminated in three bocce courts, all ADA compliant. So you can sign up to roll for 30 minutes on a court, either clock or street end. You can work on your bank shots or just try to pick off the pallino. Or just sit around, munching and visiting. A bathroom is also adjacent to the courts near Gazebo Park.

Today’s theme being Halloween, there were lots of costumed participant. But the top voted costumes were Glinda the Good Witch and the Lollipop kid or Sharmin Watkins and Steve Balter.

Don’t forget the General Membership Meeting on November 10 from 3-5 p.m. at Foothill Center for members only. There will be a tailgate event and board member selection.

The last big event of 2024 is the Holiday Party on December 6 at Cribari Auditorium from 5 to 9 p.m. Reservations required. Watch for the flyer.
