Bocce returns this spring with a great tournament schedule and some new events. Following two boot camps in February, the Bocce social calendar kicks off with an Inaugural Bocce Brunch on March 2. At the Clubhouse, this event surely will be a must have on your social calendar. Our social director, Barb Orlando has planned a great new event. It will fill up fast. Watch for this flyer—Spring into Bocce.

The first tournament is the Spring Mixer starting March 10 and running through April 18. This mixer pairs up newer players with more experienced players and gives everyone a fun tournament. Playoffs will be the week of April 21 and the Championship Potluck will be on April 23. Watch for this flyer and on https://villagesbocce.vgcc.club to register. Reservations are always required for the potluck.

And the Friday bashes are back. Our first Bash is Friday March 7 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the bocce courts. Snacks, bocce, visit. Come congratulate the beginner bocce players after they finish boot camp and the beginners tournament. We then kick off our themed bashes with a Pot of Gold at the St. Paddy’s March 14 bash from 3 – 5 p.m. for snacks, bocce and socializing. This event is open to all the Villagers, whether you’re a bocce club member or not.  The bashes are every Friday through October from 3 – 5 p.m. starting with the March 7 event. Bring a snack, share a snack and practice your bocce strategies. They are a great way to meet new bocce players, connect with old friends and have a great time at the bocce courts. Mark your Fridays.

The Bocce Club is a very social sports club and the beginning of the year is a great time to join. 632 Villagers can’t be wrong. Bocce is great fun. Low dues ($15), lots of fun events throughout the year and bocce. The membership chair is Jeanne-Anne Whitacre and she is always glad to answer your questions and help you join the club. She can be reached at jawhitacre@live.com or 650-493-3638 or meet her at the bash.
