Catholic Community: Lent – 2025

Picture of artistic cross

During Lent we focus on self-reflection and deepening our relationship with God.

Listed below are some prayer experiences at St. Francis of Assisi. However, one might want to take some time to quietly reflect on your life and who God is for you now. A suggestion might be to take a long walk on our paths here at The Villages, daily or weekly. Keep the time simple.

Lenten Reconciliation Service

A Lenten Penance Liturgy on Thursday, March 27 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Chapel. Priests will be available for individual confessions.

During Lent, there are weekly times for confessions: every Saturday from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. and every Wednesday after 9 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Chapel’s Confessional.

Into The Desert — Lenten Morning of Recollection

On Saturday, March 15, Fr. Saju Joseph, Judicial Vicar and a member of the Tribunal for our Diocese, will lead our day of recollection with a central theme of “Into the Desert.”

The morning reflection is in Sandersfeld Hall at St. Francis of Assisi 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
