Community Chapel: ‘Running Out of Time’

Have you ever been so busy that you ran out of time to acknowledge a pressing need in your heart? Have you dreamed about wanting to do something of great importance, but other things seemed to keep you from achieving that purpose?
I have heard so many stories from people who have lived with regrets. Their stories start with… “I remember when I had the opportunity to be or do…”
Has God spoken into your life and you have not affirmed His will? Remember that God makes the choices and sends us to bear witness to His grace, not man.
When God sends a person, He gives them authority to speak on His behalf for a specific time. John the Baptist was Jesus’s cousin, who was born to prepare the hearts of the Jewish people to receive salvation through Christ Jesus. He knew what God had placed in his heart to do, and he did it with zeal. John needed to assume responsibility in calling men to acknowledge their sins and repent. John was given a window of time and opportunity to fulfill God’s Purpose as we each have been given.
Our purpose, as believers, is to be a light that points people to Christ. No matter how mundane or brief your assignment may be, it has eternal worth. Take ownership of the calling that God has placed upon you and not relegate it to someone else. God has gifted you in a way that is unique to the purpose for which you have been called.
John denied and sacrificed himself to achieve the purpose of his commission from God, which had an eternal purpose for humanity. Are you willing to deny yourself by focusing on what God has placed before you to achieve the extraordinary?
Can you imagine the impact of the first individual who baked the first loaf of bread? In many parts of the world, people can taste fresh bread daily, but no one knows who baked the first loaf. Yet, there is nothing more wonderful to the mouths of the hungry than fresh bread and butter! The thought of having freshly baked bread makes me want to consume it! Even though I can consume that freshly baked bread, Jesus said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4 NIV).
Whatever your special gift or talent, God has given you the ability and time to impact the world as a ripple in the ocean of grace. Do it before you run out of time to achieve it!
Please join us at the Villages Community Chapel in Cribari Auditorium this Sunday at 10 a.m. to be encouraged over the Word of Life and enjoy coffee and cookies with friends. We will be starting A new series: “More Than Enough.” The chapel is where needs are met, faith is affirmed, and new friends are made.
