Community Chapel: ‘We’ve Come This Far by Faith’

We are living in very challenging times, to say the least. The world is looking for the well-known paths and… the way life was before! Nothing in this world appears as reliable and stable as we have grown accustomed to. In the past, significant challenges caused us to refocus and unite great minds, as we sought God’s guidance as a country.

Some people weren’t guaranteed their next meal or paycheck, but they rallied together, lifting each other with affirmations of God’s promises. To be truthful, we aren’t even guaranteed our next heartbeat. Even when feeling secure sometimes, the spirit of fear attempts to grip our hearts. Truthfully, we are incredibly fragile and utterly dependent on the Lord for every breath. We are not as secure as we think we are, about life in the future, except in Christ.

Maybe you’re single after many years of marriage and wondering if you’ll ever remarry. Your life may be uncertain, and you don’t know what the next day will hold. When you look at your condition and the world, it is vital for you and all who believe in Christ, to meditate on the bedrock of God’s Word.

After all, when and if our natural family ceases to exist, God has placed us in a spiritual family through faith in Christ. We who share a relationship with Christ are brothers and sisters in the family with Him. We are characterized by love, grace, support, and fellowship as members of one family. We assemble, pray, encourage, and help one another with everyday tasks. As God provides for one, He provides for all. We take great delight in coming together to worship and remember the things God has prepared for us now and eternally.

Leaders come and go, making promises they can’t fulfill without collateral damage and the loss of lives. True happiness is unattainable in a sin-filled world with lies, greed, and deception, outside of Christ. Even if a man can gain worldly success in all his pursuits, what does it profit him to lose his soul? Whatever good will or purpose a man may achieve, rest assured that he has no control over life or death.

“It is better to trust in the Lord than put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to have confidence in princes.” Psalms 118:8-9 NJV.

Please join us in celebrating Holy Week at the Villages Community Chapel in Cribari Auditorium this Sunday at 10 a.m. to be encouraged over the Word of Life and enjoy coffee and cookies with friends. We will be starting a new series: “Appreciating His Gift.” The chapel is where needs are met, faith is affirmed, and new friends are made.
