There are days in my life, and I’m sure in yours, when you say under your breath, “Lord, give me strength!” It’s like I can’t take another thing happening now. It could be finding out that a relative passed during a health crisis, while handling a timely and very sensitive issue with a friend. Sometimes, a day is spent running from one fire to the next without an extinguisher or solution to put out the fires.
Physical strength is developed through proper nutrition, strenuous exercise, and weight training. The strength most needed in dealing with people’s issues is seldom physical but rather mental and emotional. Gaining that strength can only come from the Spirit of love and grace from above. Today, there is a constant shift in the things that once brought a sense of security. This continuous shift has created a great need for people to be sustained by the strength of love and grace.
When I have been without the mental and emotional strength needed to participate at a level of deep conviction, I would begin to rejoice in thankfulness and gratitude. What happens when you take the focus off your immediate situation and redirect it toward your blessings is amazing. Your strength begins to be renewed, which allows you to face the problems with a better disposition.
Today, you may feel lonely and isolated, as another unexpected challenge has presented itself. If you can stand up, open a window or door to get some fresh air and walk around your house, being thankful for what you have, you’re blessed! After you have done that, call someone and tell them thanks for answering your call. Then, the miracle begins as you share what you are thankful for.
Remember, 1 Thessalonians NKJV 5:16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
As you implement this plan, you will suddenly discover God’s nearness as His spirit draws toward you, and your heart will be flooded with unexpected joy. Surely, the joy of the Lord is… our strength, and in His presence, there is fullness of joy!
