Five Shonis win Putts for Gold

By Betty Hall

What a gorgeous spring day last Tuesday. Almost made us think it was summer… it’s coming but not quite yet. The course was in great shape, 21 Shonis and two qualifiers (Jeanne Chiaramonte and Marie Colaizzi, both on their third games) came out to play. We played on the fairways, the greens, some played in the new bunkers and some even played in the lake. But it was all good because it was a beautiful day.

Tuesday, March 25 was our delayed Putts for Gold as well as the last of the March birthday 🎂 golfers. Our two birthday golfers were Barb Berman and Sabrina Kupperberg. And they both aced their flights sweeps. Congratulations.

No birdies today but never fear. They’ll be back.

Putting for Pesos had three winners today before our regular golf. Jonna Robinson, Tahera Khalil and Sabrina Kupperberg all showed their putting skills on the practice green today. An extra dollar in your sweeps envelopes for this June.

So today’s Putts for Gold game, delayed from March 17 had 5 winners today. In flight 1, Pauline Robertson was the best putter with 14 Putts for 9 holes. In flight 2, we had a three-way tie. With 16 Putts each our winners were Sabrina Kupperberg, Jonna Robinson and Lesley Robinson. And in flight 3 our low putter was Jan Trusso with 19 putts. All five golfers will receive a low putts pin.

Don’t forget, next Tuesday is April 1. New month, new handicaps, and new start time. We will be starting our sign ins at 8:30 a.m. through 9 a.m. and tee off is at 9:30 a.m. Bandini also starts on April 1 and our Bandini seed supplier is Sabrina. So allow yourself enough time on your shotgun hole to pick up those divots before we tee off at 9:30.
