Can you handle a shovel or a rake? Would you like to be part of a team to make our trails cleaner and safer? The Hiking Club’s annual Trail Maintenance Day is Saturday, March 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteer helpers will meet at Foothill Center at 8:30 a.m. that day where work parties will be formed. We’ll start with a brief planning session and description of the work to be done. The Villages Maintenance Department will supply three “mules” and drivers to take us to the work sites on the trails and bring us back to Foothill Center by around noon. Tools will be provided, and work gloves, sturdy shoes/boots and bottled water are recommended. A free lunch will be served to the Volunteers at Foothill around noon.

If you would like to volunteer to help out with the trail work, please contact Jim Ware at 530-919-1246 or jameswware@outlook.com

Let’s be prepared for a great day of improving and celebrating our wonderful Villages trail system.
