The Ironmen are in afternoon play, gathering every Thursday at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start, sweeps, birdie pool, and closest to the pin.
Thursday, October 31, 2024, was partly cloudy and cool and the course, after some overnight rain, was a bit wet. Ten Ironmen played.
Hiei Takazawa won Third Place with a net 28; there was a three-way tie for Second Place between Joe Alarcon, Sang Nam, and Jim White each with a net 27; and Jerry Juracich won First Place with a net 26.
There were two Birdies today: one by Larry Dorsey on hole 9; and the other by Jerry Juracich on hole 1.
Closest to the Flag was on our shortest hole, #2, but no one got on! So no CTF award!
Sang Nam won Low Gross with a 29.
Two golfers shared Golfer of the Day honors: Jerry Juracich with a first place finish and a birdie; and Sang Nam with low gross and a second place finish. Way to go Jerry and Sang.
A reminder: If every Ironman at every game would take the time to fill in all divots and green damage noticed during each week’s game, we would be making a big contribution toward maintaining our own course.
The Ironmen 9 hole, par 3 group would love to add new members. We are a very sociable group, and play basically pressure-free golf. And the first round is on us. Just call Jerry Juracich at 408-440-8283. You can also visit our website at http://ironmen.vgcc.club
