Gene O’Donnell is Ironmen’s final Golfer of the Day for 2024
The Ironmen are now in afternoon play, gathering every Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start, sweeps, birdie pool, and closest to the pin.
Thursday, December 19, 2024, was sunny and warm. Nine Ironmen played. Because there were fewer than 10 players, there were no sweeps. Note that, because of the upcoming holidays, we won’t play again until January 9, 2025.
There were two birdies: one by Larry Dorsey on hole 4 and the other by Gene O’Donnell on hole 2.
Gene O’Donnell won low gross with a 34.
Golfer of the day honors went to Gene O’Donnell with a birdie and low gross. Way to go, Gene.
A reminder: If every Ironman at every game would take the time to fill in all divots and green damage noticed during each week’s game, we would be making a big contribution toward maintaining our own course.
The Ironmen 9 hole, par 3 group would love to add new members. We are a very sociable group, and play basically pressure-free golf. And the first round is on us. Just call Jerry Juracich at 408-440-8283. You can also visit our website at https://ironmen.vgcc.club
Deep Thoughts: “When I was younger, I was terrible at golf, but now, after years of dedication, practice, and coaching, I am no longer young.” – Anonymous
