What a gorgeous fall day for fun, friends, and golf! It was strange to start on Hole 4 but glorious to head into lunch after just 15 holes! We are so grateful to former Villager, Dutch Johnson, who donated over $850,000 for this bunker renovation project through the EVF (Evergreen Villages Foundation) with the remaining funds coming from the Club Board. We will be starting golf at 9 a.m. until this project is finished, likely late March. Enjoy that extra 30 minutes of snooze time!

A big thank you to all those who coordinated the four Saturday Ladies Tournaments this year; Mille Anne Schwerin, Camille Giuliodibari, Kerry Besmehn, Lo Rube, Mary Wagle, Debbie Moore, Janelle Salvatierra, Vicki Krattli, Diana Hallock, Betty Sharps, Kathy Kyne, Patti Bell, Kitty Ohtaka, and Mary Jo O’Neill. These tournaments were the brainchild of past Captain, Gloria Landry. While the field was limited to forty players, everyone who played had a fabulous time. We look forward to Saturday Tournaments next year! Watch your handbook calendar for dates.

Our General Meeting was held November 7. We reviewed a few bylaw changes and voted on our slate of officers for 2025. Thank you, Captain Patti, for your enthusiasm and energy all year long…you are amazing! Vicki shared an acrostic that perfectly describes how we should all approach golf:

            R          Ready golf, be ready!

E          Everyone on the same page to have fun!

S          Slow group? Speed up or split up.

            P          Pick the right tees

E          Efficient play means more enjoyment

C          Camaraderie is more important than competition

T          Take care of the course.

Captain’s Trophy was won by Judy Rodriguez and low putts by Kay Gray. Birdies were sunk by Monica Saneholtz on #6, Susie-Q Conklin on #11, and Gisele Barber on #13. Bev Poellot, MaryAnn Diridon, Jean Shimada and Kay Gray had chip ins.
