Learn about California condors in Pinnacles National Park

Come to the Hiking Club’s presentation on California condors in Pinnacles National Park on Monday, November 25 at 7 p.m. at Foothill Center. The program will follow a short business meeting and a break for socializing with snacks and beverages. The meeting is free and all Villagers are welcome to attend.

Pinnacles National Park is located 75 miles south of The Villages. Since 2003, Pinnacles National Park has been a release site for endangered California condors. The program now co-manages over 100 birds of the more than 250 flying free in the wild. The Pinnacles National Park Foundation assists biologists in their efforts to preserve and protect California condors at Pinnacles National Park. Richard Neidhardt, Director and Condor Fund Chair will be the Hiking Club’s featured speaker at its November 25th meeting.

Richard is a long-time volunteer with the condor program at Pinnacles National Park and heads up the Pinnacles Condor Fund committee of Pinnacles National Park Foundation. Having grown up on a lake in South Carolina, Richard has been involved with the outdoors his whole life and enjoys birding, hiking, and generally enjoys the natural world.
