Landscape Maintenance
• General Maintenance Schedule (General weeding control, pruning, and cleaning)
BellaVista, the new landscape contractor, is now providing landscape services for The Villages. See high-level maps and outlines of the vendor’s various activities for November on The Villager Online at news.thevillagesgcc.com. The schedule reflects days for mowing, combined mowing/cleaning, cleaning, and detailing. Detailing includes pruning, pulling weeds, and detailing plant material.
• Fertilizer
Custom blend fertilizers are arriving within the next two weeks and pre-emergent to be completed alongside it. Four applications are to be completed throughout the year. First turf fertilizer application and first pre-emergent applications to be completed on the week of 12/9 – 12/13 throughout the districts and Club properties as follows:
-Village Del Lago, Village Sonata, Village Fairways, Village Cribari, Village Glen Arden, Village Highland, and Village Valle Vista 12/9 – 12/10
-Village Montgomery, Village Verano 12/12 – 12/13
-The Heights, Village Hermosa 12/11 and 12/13
-Village Olivas, The Estates 12/11 – 12/12
-Club Properties 12/11
• Pest Control
o Treatment for voles, moles, gophers and squirrels—Village Montgomery, Village Del Lago, and Village Sonata—will occur on 11/25.
(Rozol Vole Bait, Talpirid, Gopher Coetter Type 2 Bait, Rodent Bait Diphacinone .005% and .01%).
o For pesticide information used by the pest control vendor or the landscape vendor, please contact Customer Service at 408-223-4670 or visit the Corporation Yard at 3401 The Villages Fairway Drive. San Jose, CA 95135 or visit the Resident Portal and click on the pesticides button for pest control or landscape.
• Watering Schedule
BellaVista and Management have adjusted/reduced the watering schedule based on the latest weather conditions.
• Beta Sites/Non-functional turf conversions—The Villages entry along Sonata/Del Lago in progress. Gachina will start work at the Montgomery Beta Site within the next two weeks.
Association Maintenance
If your village is not listed below, there is not a large-scale project occurring within your community. However, Public Works continues to address ongoing standard maintenance and landscape requests within each village.
•Village Glen Arden—The roof replacement project continues to remain on hold due to weather. Management is working with vendor to determine upcoming window which would allow for demo.
• Village Valle Vista—Fire Hardening Project Delayed
o Update: Notices have been posted to all residents about the project which will restart next week. Updated schedule as follows:
9001 – 9008 scheduled on 11/18 – 11/19
9009 – 9016 scheduled on 11/19 – 11/20
9017 – 9024 scheduled on 11/20 – 11/21
9025 – 9033 scheduled on 11/21 – 11/22
9034 – 9041 scheduled on 11/22 – 11/25
9042 – 9047 scheduled on 11/25 – 11/26
9051 – 9072 schedule will be shared on 11/22 when finalized.
