When: Saturday, June 14
What: Annual Picnic, Barbecue at the Gazebo
(ALL Men’s Golf Club members may attend, whether playing in the tournament or not.)
Members ONLY—No guests or spouses
Format: Scramble, Four-Man Teams, Scores Non-Postable
Sign-up: May 24 through June 12. Sign up with the Pro Shop, either as a team or individually, and the Pro Shop will pair you with other players to form a team.
Handicaps: 80% of June 12 Handicap
Flights: Flighted, depending upon the number of players
Tees: TBD
Tee Times: 8 a.m. Shotgun
Scorecard: Turn in signed and attested scorecards to the Pro Shop
The scores are Non-Postable
Cost: $50—this includes green fees and sweeps
Coffee and donuts from 6:45 a.m. to 8 a.m.

The 55th Evergreen Invitational
will be held July 10 through July 12
and the cost this year will be $850 per team.
The tournament is now open to all MGC members who wish to sign up and participate.
Invitations have been emailed to all members on the 14th.
Please fill out the invitation and email to Scott Steele at SSteele@the-villages.com, or present the completed form to the Pro Shop in person.

The Villages Men’s 18 Hole Golf Club Thursday Team Play
We kicked off the 2025 Season with a bang defeating Palo Alto Hillshere in our home opener by a score of 28-8.
Our new Captain Dave Dimmick had his “Michael Jordan moment” shooting 73 including a “Par+ forced bogey” on the final hole because the match was already over. (Even Par 72 whilst fighting off a virus—now that’s golfing your ball folks!) Lady Luck wasn’t as kind to his partner, our previous club champion, Ted Escobar, who played in the number one spot against the returning prodigal son James Rogerswho remembered every blade of grass on the course and read the breaks on every green for his partner today. James shot 69 today.
But they weren’t the only victors today! It truly was a “Team Victory” with just about every team member contributing.

Golf Thoughts
Executive Committee Meeting: The Men’s Golf Club Executive Committee meets the first Tuesday of the month at 8:30 a.m. in Montgomery Center.
The next meeting will be Tuesday, June 3, 2025. MGC Members are always welcome to attend.
