You know you’re going to want to play in this. This will take place on June 14 so get ready, it’s right around the corner. Scramble, four-man teams, Shotgun-8 a.m. Flighted. Barbecue at Gazebo following the tournament– coffee / donuts prior.

May Eagle Shooters—There was a bunch of them… must be Eagle season!

Reggie Smith was at it again in May! He had an Eagle on 5/3 on hole #8. Yes, this guy is that good… except when he’s your partner when you are playing “6’s”. Just sayin’.

Mario Beltrano was really golfing his ball on 5/3. It only took him 2 strokes to finish off Hole #3. He has got some kind of game that I’m totally unfamiliar with. Way to go, my friend!

On 5/15, Bob Costa achieved something we don’t often talk about… he eagled #1! “My approach shot looked solid, and my playing partner and I watched the ball disappear! A great thing to watch!” Bob C. I’m sure it was Bob!

Larry Martinson, on 5/23, shot a 2 (Eagle) on Hole #7 with his Calloway 5 wood from 167 yards out. He celebrated (I bet he did…) with Jim Valenti, Joe Cansilla and Bob Filhouer who made up the foursome in George Olsen’s Saturday group.

And you just can’t talk about Eagle Shooters without David Gonzales’ name coming up! David said, “I made a 3 on Hole #16 on Tuesday 5/27 in the Home and Away. I had 185 yds. to the back right pin, so I flushed a 5 iron to left middle of the green. Sunk the 40+ footer. Some guy from the condos behind the green screamed when the putt dropped. Scared the crap out of me.”

And last but not least, we have Jim Hansell that recorded an Eagle 3 on hole #2 on May 31. He smashed a driver, striped a 4 hybrid, then made a 6″ putt.

Easy peasy…That is that is some extremely good shooting sir. We are hoping to see many more of these in the very near future from you. Well done!

Age Shooters for May

Yes, he’s back again in the Age Shooters section, because he does this all the time! He is a creative shot maker, a great striker of the ball, and an all-around great guy. No not Larry Angel… I’m talking about Dave Dimmick. Dave recorded a 76 on 5/7 and then backed it up on 5/15 with the 73. Yes, he is just that good. Keep it up “Double D”!

George Southland shot his age with a 91 on 5/17. Yes, he absolutely did! George you are nothing short of amazing, and I hope you continue to do this for another 91 years. We all are so proud of you!

Jim Valenti informed Don Chaisson the other day, that he shot his age for the 525th time

(actually, by now 526th time). Nobody does that, anywhere, ever! Jim you are truly a Village’s Treasure, and we are lucky to be able to call you our very own! Keep it up sir!

Now what would the Age Shooter section be without a picture of Larry Angel in it? Larry just got under the wire for the month of May by shooting a 78 on 5/31. I’ll say one thing for Larry he is consistent, and you know he will be back here next month. Well done my friend!

Remember if you record a Hole In One, an Eagle, or if you Shoot Your Age, please notify Donald Chaisson at dachaisson@comcast.net.  We want to make sure to get you posted in the Villager and on the Men’s Club website. And please have a friend take a quick picture of you so we can get your handsome mug in the monthly recognition article.
