‘Nice to meet you!’

By The Rev. Joel P. Miller

I’m the new kid on the block and would love to introduce myself to you. Actually, I’m not a kid. I’m a senior like you and I am a semi-retired Episcopal Priest. I’ve been leading worship at The Villages for over a year. We call it Trinity Episcopal Chapel and we meet at Montgomery Center at 9 a.m. every Sunday (except when there is a fifth Sunday). I imagine I have seen many of you in the Clubhouse on Sundays where we gather to have breakfast and fellowship after church. We are an affiliate of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in downtown San Jose. In the half hour before our services the Montgomery Center is transformed into a beautiful chapel, replete with an altar, candles and a large cross made by a former congregant who is no longer with us.

If you are interested in discovering spiritual resources for life in the senior stage of life, we might be the group that you are looking for. We follow the Anglican traditions in our worship but our hearts and minds are widely ecumenical. So come join us. We’d love to meet you.
