Pickleball Spring Swing Tournament results

The Spring Swing Tournament on April 26 was a success, with beautiful weather—cool and just right for a day of pickleball.

Thanks to Karen Ruth for organizing yet another successful pickleball tournament! Thanks to Anahid Gregg for keeping everything moving smoothly throughout the day, and to Michelle McQuay and her Pickle Pit Crew for providing excellent food that was enjoyed by both players and spectators.

We had some exciting moments on the courts, including two teams who won all of their games: congratulations to Chris and Brian, and Ed and Srini for their impressive performances.

Karen Ruth had this to say about one exciting moment: “While I was unable to witness every inspired effort by every team, the most exceptional one that I saw was in a match between Kim and Bobby and Michelle and Tim. Halfway through an intense rally, Bobby returned a great shot that was hit to the left line of the court, losing his paddle simultaneously. Kim sprinted to cover the middle, returning the next two or three shots while Bobby recovered his paddle and came back onto the court to finish out the rally. Even though they lost the point, it was a triumphant moment, and the whole crowd broke out in applause!”

(3) Tied for 3rd Sheryl Ruth & Kathleen Holt

*All of the advanced women won the exact same number of games, so it came down to the points won to decide their ranking!

  • Advanced Intermediate Men:

(1) Ed Ng & Sarathi Srinivasan

(2) Dari Tarabini & Marty Funcell

(3) Steve Yang & Peter Conk

  • Intermediate Mixed:

(1) Chris M & Brian Tract

(2) Catherine Pham & Igor Cravetchi

(3) Susan Mackenzie & Frank Hsu
