Pinseekers hold Fall members meeting

By Jim White

Another wonderful day for golf, however, today was a “No Play Day” as we stepped aside for an “outside” charity tournament. We did hold our annual Fall members meeting at the Vineyard Center.

President Jack Bindon opened the meeting and gave a big welcome back recognition to our Treasurer, Mario, who has returned after three months visiting the Azores and then spending time on the European Continent. After some other thanks for the work of the board in Mario’s absence, we addressed the election of a Social Chair. Chuck Benjamin quickly volunteered to serve and, just as quickly, the membership approved his new position on the BOD by unanimous vote.

After reviewing the current finances and reminding members that our next meeting will be in late May or early June where we will elect a new Board of Directors. The meeting was adjourned, and we began the fun part of our Fall meeting.

Mike Falarski grilled burners, hot dogs, and sausage, members, assisted by their spouse or significant other brought a potluck of appetizers, side dishes and desert. This is our one social event for the year, and it was good to spend time talking with each other and having our life partners with us.

On Friday, October 4, we are back on the long course. First tee time at 12:03. We have a long, clear calendar ahead with no off days, if we have clear weather, until after the first day of 2025. So, get signed up for each Friday, keep it in the short grass and have fun.
