‘Dinks On Us’—Rossmoor Social Pickleball event brings smiles, spirit, and friendly fun

Members of The Villages and Rossmore Pickleball teams

It was sunshine, smiles, and a whole lot of dinking on Saturday, April 5, as 26 Villagers rallied with 24 spirited Rossmoor players in a lively, all-fun, no-drama Pickleball Social event dubbed “The Dinks On Us.” True to Village style—we showed up, we played our hearts out, we shared plenty of laughs, and we celebrated the joy of community connection.

🎉 Final Score: Villagers 28 – Rossmoor 24
While we did keep score (to help ensure more evenly matched teams in future events), the real highlight of the day was the camaraderie, laughter, and genuine sportsmanship that carried through every match.

Shoutout to the undefeated teams who kept things solid on the scoreboard:

  • 🥇 Kathleen Holt & Tom Yin (representing the Villages)
  • 🥇 Peter Conk & Steve Yang (representing the Villages)
  • 🥇 Theresa Wetley & Mary Ramos (representing Rossmoor)

☀ Weather Report: Sunny with Lots of Smiles
The courts were bathed in sunshine with just a hint of breeze to keep things interesting. Perfect weather for a day of lighthearted play and good company.

💃 Pom-Poms and Positive Vibes
Rossmoor didn’t just show up—they brought it. With cheerleader pom-poms in hand, they lit up the courts with their team spirit and playful energy, reminding us all that pickleball is just as much about fun and flair as it is about finesse.

To top it off, Rossmoor gifted goody bags to all the Villager players as a thoughtful thank-you for hosting. It was a classy gesture that perfectly captured the friendly, festive tone of the day.

🥐 Breakfast,  Lunch, and  Gratitude
Thanks to Michelle and Tim McQuay and their amazing food crew, players and guests were treated to a delicious spread that kept energy high and stomachs happy—from morning coffee and breakfast bites to burgers, dogs, and all the lunchtime fixings.

🙌 A Few Well-Deserved Thanks:
