Roy Pomroy Chadwick
Roy P. Chadwick was surrounded by his loving family as he peacefully passed away on September 10, 2024 after a long and fulfilling life.
Roy was born May 15, 1939 in Rochester, Minnesota where he later met and married his high-school sweetheart, Barbara. He graduated as a Mechanical Engineer from the University of Minnesota and began a 38-year career in Facility Services. They moved to California in the sixties and raised three children, Amy, Sara, and Tim.
Roy was a man of many talents and interests. He excelled at sports (ice-hockey, football, golf), challenged himself physically (running a marathon, biking a centurion), loved to learn new crafts (woodworking, leatherworking, refinishing antiques), and was a handyman who could fix anything. He enjoyed the outdoors (canoeing, camping, backpacking) and was excited to pursue his hobbies—especially travel and photography—in retirement. Sadly, the progression of Parkinson’s Disease eventually robbed him of these joys.
Roy was most happy in the company of his family and was blessed with six grandchildren, Madison, Joey, Emilie, Chad, Carter, and Bee, and one great-grandson, Gavin. He will be dearly missed by his family and all who loved him.
