See Hoover School choir perform at VMFSC luncheon

Hoover School Choir VMFSC luncheon

On Tuesday, December 3, the Villages Men’s Fun Social Club will feature a luncheon performance by the San Jose Hoover Middle School Choir.  Social Club members should make lunch reservations at least a week in advance on the computer website referenced in the monthly newsletter. Non-member guests are invited to attend the presentation and should arrive at the Clubhouse by 12:15 p.m.

This excellent sixth- through eighth grade student choir travels extensively to various destinations in California. Hoover is the only middle school invited to the West Valley Annual Choir Invitational where they perform among several high school choirs. They have performed several times in Disneyland, which requires additional songs separate from those performed at their regular concerts.

The choir has been under the direction of Victoria Arribere for 10 years. Mrs. Arribere earned her music education degree at San Jose State University. She believes that all students should have access to a musical education and the program is successfully growing at Hoover. The Hoover students work closely with Lincoln High School students and faculty in preparation for future vocal music at the San Jose Unified performing arts high school.

At this December luncheon, the Social Club will be collecting clothes for the Villages Medical Auxiliary who will deliver the clothes to San Jose people in need. This clothes drive has been successful in the past and we encourage you to bring your unused clothing to this collection.
