Senator Dave Cortese was elected in November 2020 to represent State Senate District 15, covering much of Santa Clara County in Silicon Valley. A former attorney and business owner, he previously served over a decade on the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors—including four years as Board President—eight years on the San Jose City Council (two as Vice Mayor), and eight years as a trustee for the East Side Union High School District.
