The Shonis celebrated St. Valentine’s Day a little early on February 11 with our social breakfast in the Bistro. Meeting at 8:30 a.m., 16 Shonis enjoyed food and chatting with each other before golfing.

The Shoni Co-Captains, Joyce and Teddy, ran the show that day. After eating, everyone who wanted to play the special partners game drew a numbered golf ball to determine partner and shotgun hole and off they went.

Sabrina Malcolmson donated red balloons for today’s game. It was spectacular to see all the red balloons bouncing around on the course whether they were on pull carts or golf cars or being carried. They looked absolutely amazing and what fun!  She got the red balloons because it was her first time ever getting a birdie playing with the Shonis two weeks ago. So with her half of the great birdie pot, she shared half of it with her partner that day, Donna Erickson, who encouraged her to make that birdie and with the other half she decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day with all her Shoni ladies.

The game was an alternate hit Partners game. The partners were randomly selected by a ball draw and winners of the top three lowest gross scores received ball markers or pins. Tied for second with a gross 43 were Jonna, Manoli, Pauline with Schinae and MaryAnn. Winning first with a 42 gross were Dee and Peggy. Nice winning, ladies.
