Shonis enjoy beautiful day of golf and duckies

By Betty Hall

The duckies are back and the sun was shining. What a beautiful golf day. Twenty-three Shonis and two qualifiers (Jan Ehrhardt and Amara Thomas) enjoyed today’s golf. Next week, there will be new handicaps. And boy will I be glad. It’s getting tough to even up the flights because too many of you all have a handicap of 16 and/or 24. Let’s see what happens next week.

Putting for Pesos last Tuesday had two winners: Rose Loy and Amari Thomas. Congratulations to you both on your putting skills.

Birdies on May 27 were Marty Blinde and Donna Erickson. Marty got hers on #8, which was great since I heard 8 was rolling balls back down the hill today. Donna dropped her birdie on #5. But sadly, Donna didn’t drop a quarter in the pot today so Marty grabbed the whole pot. Don’t forget to always drop that quarter. You never know when it’s your birdie day.

Birthday golfers today for May were Manoli Kelly, Jonna Robinson and Terri Matsumura. They got a boost in sweeps but sadly only Manoli and Jonna. Next year, Terri. Anyway, Happy birthdayI

We’re two weeks away from finishing our Eclectic. Wonder who’s going to be the big winners? There’s lots of new Shonis.

And there’s just four weeks until the June 24 Shoni/Swinger mixer. There’s still spots left for the two tee-off times: 8:30 and 10 a.m. Fun golf on the Par 3, lunch in the Clubhouse and plenty of prizes and cash. Sign up on Tuesdays at the Shoni sign-in table.
