Shonis get in spooky Halloween spirit

Shonis get creative with costumes for Halloween.

Wow. Shonis really turned out for breakfast this morning. There were 30 of us! A great time for socializing with Shonis that you might not play with or get to visit with often. And hi to Johanna Bakker!

We gave out “spooky” pins to those in the scary shirts—Meg Rogers, Rose Loy, Teddy Morse, Jonna Robinson and Fran Schumaker. And while awaiting our food we voted for the best costumes. Lots of great costumes in the mix. Candy corn, donut, Christmas tree, NY Yankee, good witch, a couple ghosts.

Our winning costumes were: #1 Scarecrow (Donna Erickson), #2 Fisherwoman (Nancy Canepa), #3 Octopus (Kathy Tanaka). They all received special Halloween pins for their costumes and their efforts.

Then 21 of us golfed. It was a beautiful day for our last official 2024 outing as well as our October birthday game for Meg Rogers and Betty Hall. Drop that high score to help your numbers.

We didn’t have Putting for Pesos but it will be back in November. Any putting monies you’ve won will be included in the December sweeps payouts at the Holiday Luncheon December 17.

We had two birdies today to wrap up the year. Marty Blinde had hers on #9 while Joyce Baptiste got her fifth of the year on #8. The birdie pot was emptied and will start over again on our first November golf date.

Thanks to all who “costumed ” for this morning’s breakfast get together. Great ideas.

Congratulations to all of the sweeps winners.
