The Ironmen are in afternoon play, gathering every Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start, sweeps, birdie pool, and closest to the pin.
Thursday, January 30, 2025, was mostly sunny with mild temps. Another fine day for some golf.
Six Ironmen played. Because there were fewer than 10 golfers, it was a no sweeps day, and there were no 1st, 2nd or 3rd places awarded.
Also, there were no Birdies. Unusual for our guys.
However, Bob Pritchard won Closest to the Flag on hole 9 at 7 feet 1 inch.
There was a three-way tie for Low Gross between Sang Nam, Bob Pritchard, and Hiei Takazawa each with a 37.
A reminder: If every Ironman at every game would take the time to fill in all divots and green damage noticed during each week’s game, we would be making a big contribution toward maintaining our own course.
The Ironmen 9 hole, par 3 group would love to add new members. We are a very sociable group, and play basically pressure-free golf. And the first round is on us. Just call Jerry Juracich at 408-440-8283. You can also visit our website at https://ironmen.vgcc.club
Deep Thoughts: “I expect to make at least seven mistakes a round. Therefore, when I make a bad shot, I don’t worry about it. It’s just one of those seven.” – Walter Hagen, winner of 11 Major Championships
“Golf is a game of finding what works, losing it, and then finding it again.” – Ken Venturi, winner of the 1964 US Open Championship
