Let’s start with a window into the highly anticipated return of The Villages Music Society (VMS) Dancer’s talent showcase. This “At The Movies” themed performance will feature engaging dancers, musicians and vocalists. This outstanding event comes to the Villages Friday, Saturday and Sunday March 14, 15 and 16 in the Cribari Auditorium. The performing groups include The VMS Dancers, Bad Boys, and Sunshine Dancers. Guest performers include singing duo dnb, VMS Piano Open Studios and Wicked.

The Sunshine Dancers will pull out all the stops for their upcoming performance. This is also the first time they have choreographed their own routines. They will be performing to songs from the movies, “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” and “Mulan.” Most Sunshine Dancers are Chinese but from different locations like Taiwan, Hong Kong and mainland China. They perform beautifully complex Tibetan, Mongolian and other folk dances.

Larry Broderick is synonymous with our beloved and talented, resident pianist. How fortunate are we to have him bring the piano to life and perform during this three-day show. This year, the VMS Dancers and Larry are working on a collaboration piece, you don’t want to miss. Larry will also be performing songs from “A Star is Born” and “The Wizard of Oz.” Larry is a member of the VMS Piano Open Studio, which had its inception roughly 20 years ago and currently has eight active members. On Tuesdays from 2 to 4 p.m. in Cribari, they take turns playing selections on both grand pianos. Meetings are open to all including non-performers, who may wish to merely enjoy listening.
