Sweeps draws 67 ladies for a day of golf and prizes

We had sweeps on May 20, and 67 ladies came out to vie for the money. The top four winners in flights one and two on the front and back nine won $8, $7, $6, and $5 each.

Judy Steinberg got the only birdie of the day on hole #13, and Edie Herbst got the only chip-in on hole #5.

Our Nominating Committee (Sheryl Driskell, Sherry Benz, and Joyce Mukuno) is still seeking candidates for the 2025 Executive Board.  For self-nomination as Co-Captain, Secretary, or Treasurer, please contact one of those ladies as soon as possible. If you get called to serve by one of these ladies, please say yes.

The first Wednesday Nine and Dine will be held on Wednesday, June 11. This is a shotgun start promptly at 4 p.m. on the front nine only, followed by dinner at Foothill Center. To sign up for this event, contact Mary Wagle at 408-829-4021 talk or text, or marylwagle@gmail.com.

San Jose Country Club’s Invitational, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, is on Tuesday, June 17.  The cost is $140 per person accompanied by the registration form that was distributed recently. Your check and the form must be received no later than June 7.  

The mixer with the Shonis is June 24 with two shotgun starts on the Par-3 course at 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. The sign-up sheet is located at the Shoni starter table every Tuesday. If you don’t know anybody, sign up anyhow and you’ll be paired with a player. Lunch immediately follows golf in the Fairway Room at a cost of $29, which gets billed to your house account.
