Tennis Club holds August mixer and BBQ

Lots of tennis activity this month. Tomorrow, Saturday, September 28 starts the Mixed Doubles club tournament and on Sunday, October 6 will be the Awards dinner at Foothill at 5:30 p.m.

Please sign up for the Awards dinner. This will be the last hurrah for Karen and Betty as we are retiring as Tournament Directors. We have a special catered Italian dinner planned: Italian salad, short ribs on horseradish mashed potatoes, chicken piccata, (for vegetarians) buttered carrots & asparagus, homemade cheese ravioli with marinara sauce, beer, wine and iced tea, ice cream for dessert.

On Friday, August 23, the rescheduled Mixer took place with Peggy Seidel and Brett Foreman in charge of the tennis and Cheryl Heusser and Sharon Bartels in charge of the barbecue dinner at the courts.

There were two sessions: 4:30 and 5:15 p.m., each session playing three rounds. The first round was regular scoring. Second round was tricky—the score depended on the color of ball you selected to serve with. And third round was everyone played with old fashioned wood racquets. Dinner was barbecue tri tip and chicken with many salads by Cheryl and Sharon. Delish.
