Villages Chinese Club celebrates Year of the Snake

The Lunar New Year is a special Chinese holiday celebrated with family, friends, food and well wishes by Chinese all over the world.  This year the Villages Chinese Club kicked off the Year of the Snake with a luncheon at the Mayflower Seafood Restaurant in Milpitas. The Snake in the Zodiac is a symbol of intelligence, rebirth and new beginnings. 

This festive celebration was attended by over 160 members and guests. All enjoyed a sumptuous 10-course banquet style meal which included ginger lobsters, Peking duck, walnut shrimps, beef steaks and more, along with fried rice, wine and dessert. It is representative of traditional Chinese gourmet food prepared for luck and good fortune. After lunch, a generous raffle gave many lucky winners bottles of wine, chocolate truffles and sweet cakes.
