Warm Coat Drive donation follow-up
This is a follow up on the One Warm Coat drive that was held in October/November. After collecting over 350 Villager-donated warm coats, a generous anonymous Villager also donated $200 to the effort. I received a receipt of the donation with a short comment about its value to the overall effort:
“A young boy named Alex (…) was profoundly affected by the kindness of donors like you. Alex is a bright and cheerful 8-year-old who lives with his single mother. Despite their financial struggles, Alex’s mother always tries to provide the best for her son. However, she was worried about how she would keep Alex warm this winter since he had outgrown his winter coat and she did not have the budget to buy a new one. Through one of One Warm Coat’s local nonprofit partners, Alex received a warm coat just in time for winter. The joy on his face was indescribable, and so was his mother’s relief! Alex proudly wears his new coat to school every day, no longer shivering at the bus stop or during recess. His mother expressed her heartfelt thanks, saying that the coat not only keeps her son warm but also gives her peace of mind knowing he is protected from the harsh weather. Your generosity provides not only warmth, but also hope and comfort to families like Alex’s.”
“The kindness of donors like you enables One Warm Coat to continue our mission to share warmth with everyone in need.” – Beth W. Amodion, President and CEO of One Warm Coat
